Bible Study on Faith - Its Role In Your Salvation.

This Bible study shows how important faith is to your salvation.  Faith is the belief, confidence and trust you have that God will do what He has promised.

Defining Faith

The Bible defines faith as “…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1).  Faith is the evidence of your belief.   As evidence is involves more than merely believing - it is a way of life that should be evident to others by your conduct.

Faith is The Only Way Back to God

Mankind fell from God's grace through lack of faith.  Adam and Eve put their trust in Satan rather than God.  Their lack of trust in what God said led to the sin that brought misery and suffering upon all humanity.  The only way back to a right relationship with God is through faith.

You cannot see, touch or feel God.  But to those who believe - He has promised you eternal life in His Kingdom as spirit members of His very family (2 Corinthians 6:18).  He has promised you an inheritance that is beyond anything you can imagine.  But you must believe and trust what He says to receive this incredible inheritance.  It cannot be earned, or bought - it comes only through faith.  By faith man's inheritance was lost and only by faith can it be regained.

Faith is a foundational doctrine.  It is required for salvation.  You cannot have eternal life without faith.  Salvation by faith is God's gift to mankind (Ephesians 2:8).

Abraham - 'father of the faithful' - believed God was able to perform what He promised (Romans 4:19-21).  Many examples of faith are recorded in the eleventh chapter of Book of Hebrews.
