The first of the Ten Commandments says that we are to worship no other Gods (Exodus 20:3) and Him only shall we serve. To worship someone is to respect and love them. Jesus said that we are to worship God with all our hearts and all our minds, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matthew 22:37). It helps to worship God with all our hearts and minds if we know what makes Him worthy of our worship. It also helps if we know how to worship Him.
