A Wedding Like No Other
A royal wedding has been announced – the Prince of Peace, our King of Kings, is to be married. By all accounts it will be an incredibly spectacular event to which you have been invited.
So do you know when and where this wedding will take place? What should you wear? What is expected of you? Who else is invited? Just how much do you really know about the marriage of the Lamb and His bride?
A Royal Wedding
We know that the groom has a royal heritage. He is the son of Almighty God and will soon be King of Kings over all nations (see our recent article entitled ‘A Coronation Like No Other’). And He will continue to rule with His Father forever (I Corinthians 15:28). His will certainly be a royal wedding.
The Apostle John was given a preview of the wedding in a vision. He saw the bride symbolised as a city descending from Heaven and he described her attire in similar symbolic terms.
In order to better grasp the imagery that John saw, it helps to draw upon things that we are familiar with. Many of us probably saw the much publicised wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was a wedding of spectacular proportions with the usual traditions, pomp and ceremony involved in a royal marriage.
Naturally a great deal of interest was centred on the bride and her wedding dress. And apart from the eye-watering cost of £355,000, there were some interesting features to her bridal adornment that may help us understand what John saw in his vision.
As expected with a royal ceremony of this magnitude there are always certain traditions to be observed. For example, it is traditional for the ruling monarch to give their permission for and royal wedding to proceed. Kate and William had to have the late Queen’s approval to marry.
The Bible tells us that God the Father is fully involved in Christ’s wedding. He even goes as far as choosing the bride for His son, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44).
His involvement in choosing the bride is not like the arranged marriages in certain worldly cultures. The bride is not going to be forced into the union against her will. She has the freedom to decide for herself.
Neither is it to be a marriage of convenience like some royal marriages have been in the past. It is to be a marriage based on love, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17).
The groom has already expressed the extent of His love for the bride who is not only His wife, but also His friend, “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (John 15:10-14).
It is a love that will endure forever, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” (Romans 8:35).
He requires that love to be reciprocated, “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” (Ephesians 5:2). Also, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him… …If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” (John 14:21 and 23).
Christ spoke of the sort of love that is not only expected, but commanded, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”(Matthew 22:37-40). For more on this subject see our article entitled ‘Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength’.
Those who love Christ and obey His commandments will be part of the bride, but those who do not obey will have no part in the marriage, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” (Revelation 22:14-15).
Royal Training
Like all royal brides Kate was required to undergo training on what it meant to be part of the royal family and how to conduct herself as a royal.
Those called by God to marry His son will become part of His family, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:” (I John 3:1). As members of God’s family they need to know how to conduct themselves, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (I Peter 1:13-16). And as Paul indicated to Timothy, “…that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (I Timothy 3:15).
Because Kate could become a target of terrorist activity while conducting her royal duties as the Duchess of Cambridge, she had to receive intense training from the SAS (Special Air Service) for her own safety.
Christ’s intended bride also undergoes intense training on how to defend herself from the enemy - Satan and his minions, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:11-13).
Royal Tiara
It is traditional that the first time the royal bride wears a tiara is on her wedding day. It symbolises her indoctrination into the monarchical life. The British royal tiaras are provided on special loan to the bride by the monarch for the duration of her life time.
Christ’s bride will wear a crown of righteousness, “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (II Timothy 4:8).
It is an incorruptible crown, “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” (I Corinthians 9:25).
It is a crown for life, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (James 1:12).
And as the bride is to be with Christ forever, the crown is hers forever, “…and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (I Thessalonians 4:17).
Bridal Garments
Out of respect for the monarchy, it is expected that British royal brides wear a dress of British design on their wedding day.
God the Father has already specified the type of wedding dress that will adorn Christ’s bride. She is to be clothed in fine linen which is the righteousness of saints, “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” (Revelation 19:8). She is not to be adorned in the righteousness of men, but that of saints which is the righteousness of God, “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:” (II Peter 1:1).
John was shown how the bride will be adorned on her wedding day, “…Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” (Revelation 21:9).
He described her glory as she descends from the Father’s House to the venue where the wedding ceremony will take place, “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,” (Revelation 21:10).
Her radiant beauty was described as a brilliant light shining through a precious jasper stone that was clear as crystal, “Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;” (Revelation 21:11).
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress with its nine-foot train was covered in hand-stitched, floral lace, motifs. Motifs also sown into her veil symbolically included the roses (for England), thistles (for Scotland), daffodils (for Wales) and shamrocks (for Ireland).
The wedding attire of Christ’s bride will also include symbolic motifs that John described, “And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” (Revelation 21:12-14).
It is significant that the names of the twelves tribes of Israel who represented a witness to the Word who was the God of Israel along with the names of the twelve apostles who were witness to Christ the man are displayed as motifs on the bride’s adornment.
John went on to describe her wedding attire, “And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.” (Revelation 21:15-21).
The awesome beauty of this symbolic city representing the bride of Christ is like no other royal bride that has ever existed.
Personification
It may seem unusual for city to be personified as a bride, but similar typology is used with the city of Babylon personifying the religious, political and military systems of this world, “…that great city Babylon” (Revelation 18:21). Also depicted as a woman, “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” (Revelation 17:4-6).
Whereas the New Jerusalem represents the bride of Christ the city of Babylon depicts the whore of Satan!
God’s Purpose
By comparing the marriage of the Lamb with a familiar royal wedding we begin to understand some of the symbolism to help us see the magnificence of Christ’s wedding. The vision John saw was not some quaint analogy to pique interest, nor was it some imaginative bed-time Bible story with the feel-good factor. It is incredibly more significant than that as we shall see.
What John saw beautifully encapsulates the ultimate achievement in God’s plan to reconcile mankind to Him through His son Jesus Christ. The marriage relationship defines the only type of relationship that will enable mankind to be accepted by the Father and integrated into His family as His children, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Romans 8:15-17).
Who, What, When and Where
Because we have all been invited to this royal wedding it is crucial that we not only know who the bride is, but what our role will be and also when and where the marriage will take place.
Fortunately the Book of Revelation provides the answers to these questions, but before we look for them we need to emphasise a legal aspect to the Book of Revelation that many overlook when trying to interpret its content.
Revelation is not just a random record of what John saw in a vision, it is the testimony of God delivered by Christ who has endorsed the authenticity of what John recorded, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.” (Revelation 1:1-2).
As a testimony it is akin to a witness statement that has been recorded, signed by the witness and delivered to a court as evidence. It is not something that can be tampered with once authenticated and witnessed.
Jesus Christ Himself who is the faithful witness of what God said and what John recorded testifies to its authenticity, “…Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” (Revelation 1:4-5).
And as witnessed testimony it has to be preserved intact, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Revelation 1:3). The Greek word ‘tereo’ translated as ‘keep’ means not only to observe, but also to preserve, implying that this testimony is to be preserved intact without alteration.
This instruction to keep the testimony intact and without alteration is repeated at the end of the document, “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:7).
It also says that anyone who dares alter the contents, or the order which God established is in danger of losing their eternal life, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19).
This warning is not to be taken lightly (for further information see our article entitled ‘A Serious Warning’).
When the Wedding is Scheduled
The Book of Revelation gives us a series of end time events and sequences interspersed with explanatory chapters that fit within a set overall framework, none of which is to be altered, or interpreted to one’s own understanding, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (II Peter 1:20)
The Father Himself has scheduled the wedding ceremony as the last major event in His plan to reconcile mankind to Himself.
He says that there will come a time when all those who can be saved, are saved. And all who refuse salvation are not going to change their minds, “And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” (Revelation 22:10-11).
Once that stage is reached the end is near, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” (Revelation 22:12-13)
Those who are righteous will have entered the city, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14).
And the unrighteous will be excluded from the city, “For without (the city) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.” (Revelation 22:15-16).
That city is the New Jerusalem which is the bride of Christ, “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,” (Revelation 21:9-10).
These verses are clearly telling us that by this time all who are going to be saved are part of the bride and all who are not part of the bride are destined for the Lake of Fire.
The time He is talking about comes after the Millennium and White Throne Judgment and is the same time mentioned by Paul as the end, “Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (I Corinthians 15:24-28).
As soon as the bride descends from Heaven to the wedding ceremony it is declared that death has been defeated and that God will then dwell with His people, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:1-5).
Then it is pronounce that “It is done” meaning the end of the age is over, “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:6-7).
All those who are not part of the Holy City of New Jerusalem which is the bride are condemned to the second death, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8).
According to the information in Revelation 21 and 22 the wedding ceremony definitely takes place at the end, after the Millennium and White Throne Judgment. Which means people called to Christ during those times either enter the city, or they are excluded and destined to the Lake of Fire.
The Bride of Christ clearly includes, not only those who are the first-fruits at Christ’s coming, but also those called to salvation during the Millennium and the White Throne Judgment.
False Teaching
Many teach that the Bride of Christ comprises only the church, or the first-fruits. They maintain that the wedding takes place when Christ returns which is prior to the Millennium.
They base their teaching on what John said in Revelation 19 just before he described Christ’s triumphant return.
They claim the passage is proof that the marriage of the lamb takes at the time when the first fruits are resurrected who will then accompany Christ as He returns to earth to defeat the armies at Armageddon, “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:6-9).
However, a careful examination of the terminology used in this passage does not support their conclusion.
Take for example; in the phrase ‘for the marriage of the Lamb is come’ the term ‘is come’ which is translated from the Greek word ἔρχομαι (erchomia) indicates an action that is either in the present, or the future. It does not refer to an action that is in the past. So the marriage of the lamb is either about to take place when this announcement is made, or is going to take place in the future. The context will determine which as we shall see.
In the next phrase ‘his wife hath made herself ready’ the term ‘hath made’ translated from the Greek word ἑτοιμάζω (hetoimazo) indicates a future tense so the term should more accurately read ‘is to make ready’ indicating the wife is going to make herself ready. It is describing an action yet to take place which confirms the context of the previous term.
The third phrase ‘that she should be arrayed in fine linen’ clearly indicates an action that has yet to take place. She is yet to formally don the figurative wedding garment which is described as the ‘righteousness of saints’.
It must also be remembered that in ancient Israel the words ‘wife’ and ‘husband’ are used for the bride and groom from the moment of betrothal which can be as long as year or more, before the actual marriage ceremony takes place.
So when we consider the meanings of the terminology used in the announcement from Heaven concerning the bride of Christ we must rightly conclude that the wedding has not taken place at the time of the announcement but is yet to take place at a future time. The main focus from that time forward is in preparing the bride who is to be attired in righteousness for the wedding ceremony that has yet to take place.
As we have read in Revelation 21 and 22 the wedding ceremony that is the last event to be described in the Book of Revelation is the final stage in the process of reconciling mankind to God? They are either in the city, or not. They are either part of the bride, or not!
That means those called during the Millennium and White Throne Judgment will have the opportunity to have their names written in the Book of Life just like those who are called now (see our article entitled ‘On Trial’).
They too will be able to partake of the tree of life and bear His name as a bride bears her husband’s name, “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.” (Revelation 22:1-4).
These who obey Christ and commit to Him will not be denied entry into the city that is the bride, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14).
There is no differentiation between those who are the first-fruits and those who serve Christ and do His commandments during the Millennium and White Throne Judgment. They all bear His name and have right to the tree of life.
It is only the unrepentant sinners who are excluded from being part of the city that is the bride of Christ, “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” (Revelation 22:15).
Christ indicated this in His parable of a wedding feast where a man was cast out for not wearing the appropriate wedding garment (Matthew 22:2-14). The man not wearing the right garment was not clothed in righteousness therefore unacceptable to God.
Those who teach that the Bride of Christ comprises only the first-fruits and that the wedding takes place when Christ returns prior to the Millennium rather than after the White Throne Judgment not only limit the scope of what God achieving but also violate His warning not to alter His testimony, “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:19).
Preparing the Bride
Having established when and where the wedding will take place and who the bride is, we can now look at the subject of preparing the bride.
The reconciliation of mankind to the Father is the paramount purpose of God’s plan and it will occur in stages.
The initial preparation of the bride that includes the first fruits began six thousand years ago, with Abel who was righteous and included all those saints mentioned in Hebrews 11:1-38, who will also be raised to perfection along with the saints from this age when Christ returns, “And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:39-40).
This is only the early preparation of the bride. The main preparation of saints who will also be clothed in righteousness will take place during the Millennium and Great White Throne Judgment. It is only after these events which are described within the framework of the Book of Revelation that the wedding ceremony takes place. Everyone who commits to Christ is clothed in righteousness. Everyone who is clothed in righteousness becomes part of the bride of Christ. They are the children of God the Father who are finally reconciled to Him through the marriage of the Lamb.
First are those called to salvation in this age, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.” (I Corinthians 15:22-23).
After His coming many will be called during the Millennium (Revelation 20:4-5) and the White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15) that follows.
Then as we have already established the wedding ceremony is the last event in the plan of reconciliation of mankind to God.
Our Role
Those called in this age, who are the first-fruits have a very special role in preparing the bride. It is interesting to note that when Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was being prepared the dress designers had assistance from the Royal School of Needlework whose workers were involved in meticulously cutting out the delicate motifs from lace fabric and hand sewing them on to the garments, under carefully controlled circumstances, to maintain the dress in pristine condition. They were required to wash their hands every thirty minutes and replace the needles every three hours. Such dedication to detail and precise workmanship was amazing.
Similarly those who have been called to salvation in this age have a role in preparing the bride. Although they themselves are part of the bride at the end of this age they will be resurrected to spirit and their skills, dedication and meticulous devotion to detail will be employed to prepare those called to salvation during the Millennium and Great White throne Judgment.
At that time the law will go out from Jerusalem, “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” (Micah 4:2). It will be administered by a royal priesthood being called in this age, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (I Peter 2:9)
They will be the spiritual teachers preparing the bride who is in the process of being arrayed in the righteousness of saints, “For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:19-21).
Conclusion
The marriage of the Lamb is to be a royal wedding of spectacular proportions. This wedding celebrates the ultimate achievement of God’s plan to reconcile mankind back to the Father through His son Jesus Christ.
He has chosen for His son, a bride who is to be holy, without blame, crowned and adorned in the righteousness, ready to be joint heirs with her husband in His Kingdom.
The intimate relationship formed between a husband and wife is the only type of relationship that is acceptable to God for those who are to be part of His family for all eternity. The love of the husband who was willing to die for His wife is to be reciprocated by the wife with all her heart, soul and mind.
Plans for this magnificent wedding have been proceeding throughout the history of mankind and will continue through this age, the Millennium and the White Throne judgment to ensure all who are willing to be the bride will be fully prepared. It is the last major event in God’s plan of reconciliation will take place once Christ has put an end to all evil and death is no longer a threat. At that time the bride comprising, not just a few, but billions of people resurrected to eternal life who will be adorned in their wedding attire ready to descend from heaven to the new heavens and earth prepared by Christ where they will dwell together with the Father for ever.
It is to be a royal wedding so magnificent in splendour and size that it will far exceed any that has gone before. It will be a great glory to God the Father, who planned all this from the beginning
It will be a wedding – a royal wedding like no other!
