Who You Are
Ever considered just who you are?
If you are reading this then it is highly likely that God has called you into the fellowship of Jesus Christ, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” (I Corinthians 1:9)
If you have been called into His fellowship then you are:
His friend: “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not
what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends;” (John 15:15),
His family: “And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my
brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”
(Luke 8:21),
of same mind: “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct
him? But we have the mind of Christ.” (I Corinthians 2:16),
of same nature: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious
promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature.”(II Peter 1:4),
of His body: “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
(I Corinthians 12:27),
crucified with Him: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but
Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20),
His workmanship: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus.”
(Ephesians 2:10),
a new person: “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24),
a new creature: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
(II Corinthians 5:17),
His Ambassador: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,” (II Corinthians 5:20),
the elect of God: “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowel
of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
longsuffering;” (Colossians 3:12),
a saint: “… to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be
saints,” (I Corinthians 1:2 see also Romans 1:7, Philippians 4:21),
a light to the world: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill
cannot be hid.” (Mathew 5:14),
the temple of God: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit
of God dwelleth in you?” (I Corinthians 3:16),
chosen: “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of
the world…” (Ephesians 1:4),
sanctified: “… but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of
the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (I Corinthians 6:11),
under His grace: “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to his own purpose and
grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world
began,” (II Timothy 1:9),
blessed: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in
Christ:” (Ephesians 1:3),
strengthened: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
(Philippians 4:13),
justified: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (Romans 5:1),
holy: “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God
by Jesus Christ.” (I Peter 2:5, see also 1:15-16),
sinless: “But now being made free from sin,” (Romans 6:22),
blameless: “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of
the world, that we should be holy and without blame before
him in love:” (Ephesians 4:1),
sealed: “…after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise,” (Ephesians 1:13),
chosen and ordained: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained
you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,” (John 15:16),

nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises
of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous
light:” (I Peter 2:9),

daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (II Corinthians 6:18 see also
John 1:12),
an heir: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also
glorified together.” (Romans 8:17),
an heir to promises: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious
promises:” (II Peter 1:4 see also Hebrews 6:12),
children of the promises: “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of
promise.” (Galatians 4:28).
If you have been called into the fellowship of Jesus Christ you are all of the above and more!
If the children of God are heirs of the promises then you are children of the promises!
Rejoice in that.
